Importing Japanese used cars to Myanmar

Myanmar's existing vehicle fleet is largely right-hand drive (RHD), even though the country drives on the right-hand side of the road. For years Japanese RHD models such as the Toyota Probox, Toyota Belta and Honda Fit were the backbone of imports through Yangon.

Importantly, policy has been shifting toward left-hand-drive (LHD) vehicles for new imports to match the side of the road, while the legacy fleet remains predominantly RHD. This transition is uneven and subject to change, so buyers must confirm whether RHD vehicles are still importable, and under what conditions, before purchasing.
